SHOOTING OF SUPERINTENDENT BROFIIY COMMITTED FOR TRIAL (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright) (Received 17th March, 11.15 a.m.) MELBOURNE, This Day. In connection with the shooting on 22nd June last year Superintendent Brophy in the City Court identified Geoffrey Davies, aged 32 years, as the man who shot him. Davies, who was charged with having wounded Superintendent Brophy with intenjuto murder him, was committed for trial.
