EQUALISATION OF DAIRY PRICES
AUSTRALIAN SYSTEM TO CONTINUE TO OPERATE (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright) SYDNEY, 16th March. Representatives of the dairy industry in Eastern Australia met in Sydney and discussed the failure of the recent marketing referendum and decided that the system of equalisation of prices of dairy products should continue to operate to ensure stabilisation of the industry. The effect of the decision is that prices for butter which prevailed in the past three years will by voluntary agreement continue at 140 s a cwt. wholesale and Is 4id a lb retail.
