SUCCESSFUL CONCERT

— IN AID OF TAHUNANUI SCHOOL FUNDS AN APPRECIATIVE AUDIENCE A very successful concert to augment the funds of the Tahunanui School was given in the Tahunanui Town Hall last evening. The programme which was arranged by members of the school staff consisted of items by some of Nelson’s foremost artists, assisted by Miss Eve Watson, of Dunedin. Owing to the infantile paralysis epidemic the usual end of year school concert was postponed last year and an extended summer holiday made it impossible to arrange the concert early this year, and the visiting artists very kindly supplied the fine programme. Before the commencement of the programme thi' headmaster of the school. Mr W. H. Burrows, thanked the parents and children for their support and (he performers for their services that evening. Tin programme was as follows: — Song, Mr D. Bishop; elocution. Miss Joyce Cooke: song. Miss Stella Chambers; dance. Miss Grace Inkster; song. Miss E. Watson; elocution. Mr John Black; vocal duet. Messrs Grcenetn and Clarke: song. Miss E. Watson; song. Mr D. Bishop: play-reading, members of Women’s Institute; elocution. Miss Joyce Cooke; Scottish dance. Miss Grace Tnkster; song. Miss Stella Chambers; elocution, Mr John Black. The accompanist was Mr C. Lee.
