PERSONAL ITEMS

Following an illness of several weeks, the death occurred at the Lister Hospital on Tuesday of iyirs Robina Kate Richmond, wife of Mr S. T. Richmond, of Richmond Brook (reports the “Express”). The deceased was the youngest daughter of the late Mr and Mrs Thomas Hall, who was very widely known in Marlborough, having at one time resided at Richmond Brook. She is survived by her husband. Mr S. T. Richmond, and two sons, Mr Noel Richmond and Master Derick Richmond, and five sisters and one brother, Mesdames A. E. J. Rcndall (Waikato), E. G. Blick (Burtergill, Seddon), J McLauchlan (Old R. road, Blenheim), A. G. Mowat (The Wrekin, Marlborough), and S. Chambers (Hawkes Bay), and Mr C. T. Hall (Seddon). Every sympathy is extended to the family in their bereavement. The interment took place at the Omaka Cemtery yesterday afternoon, following a service at the Church of the Nativity.

Mr H. F. O’Leary, K.C., of Wellington, and Mrs O’Leary, who have been spending a holiday in the Nelson district, have returned to Wellington.

Major and Mrs Hawkins and family arrived by this mornings steamer to take charge of the Salvation Army work in Nelson. Their welcome meeting will be held this evening. Major Hawkins has had wide experience in Salvation Army work both as a field officer and social worker. He has been in charge of various institutions and during the war period was a chaplain of the Forces at Trentham.
