PERSONAL ITEMS
Miss M. O’Brien, who commenced work on the staff of the proprietors of The Ritz. Nelson, 32 years ago, at Invercargill, and later transferred with them to Wellington and Nelson, has now retired and will reside in Christchurch. Before leaving Nelson Miss O’Brien was met by the proprietors and staff and was the recipient of several handsome presents.
Prior to his departure on transfer to Gonville, Constable T. M. Congdon was met at Picton by members of the Marlborough Police Force and was presented with a travelling case. Mrs Congdon was made the recipient of a piece of crystal ware. The presentations were made by Sergeant Smyth, who wished the departing constable and his wife every success and happiness in their new sphere. Constable Norris, of Sydenham, who succeeds Constable Congdon, has taken up his duties at Picton.
