WELCOME REBEKAH LODGE CHILDREN'S CHRISTMAS PARTY The children of the members of the Welcome Rebekah Lodge, No. 15, were entertained at a very enjoyable party and Christmas tree on Tuesday evening. The arrangements were in the hands of an energetic committee and it was obvious that much time and labour had been expended to make the function a success. The large Christmas tree had been beautifully decorated with coloured lights, balloons and other decorations used on such occasions, but more interesting from the children’s point of view was the large number of toys and gifts whuh also hung from the many branches. When Father Christmas appeared in realistic manner out of a chimney, the excitement became intense, There was a gift for all the young ones, and it was very interesting to watch the reaction of the different children when receiving their gift from Father Christmas in person. When only the decorations remained on the Christmas Tree and Father Christmas had retired to the chimney, ice creams and other refreshments were distributed.

During the evening elocutionary and dancing items were given and were much appreciated. When the time for departure arrived one could judge by the happy though tired children that they had thoroughly enjoyed themselves, and those responsible for the function must have felt satisfaction in the knowledge that their efforts had not been in vain.
