BRADMAN CERTAIN TO BE CAPTAIN SELECTION OF SIEVERS CAUSES SURPRISE (Received 26th November, 11.10 a.m.) SYDNEY, This Day. The actual twelfth man has not been named. The Board of Control is to choose the captain, who is certain to be Bradman. The umpires are Messrs J. D. Scott (South Australia) G. Borwick (New South Wales). It is not yet known whether McCormick will be fit to play, as a tornmuscle in his leg is still causing pain. The only material difference of opinion between the selectors and former internationals concerns thechoice of Sievers. V. Y. Richardson says: “The inclusion of Siev.ers rivalled Wotan’s Melbourne Cup win in the amazement it caused.”
