SMUGGLED DIAMONDS
BIG HAUL IN NEW YORK NORMANDIE PASSENGERS ARRESTED (Unitod Press Association —By Electric Telegraph—Copyright) NEW YORK, 24th November. Mrs Pearl Weinberg, leading her son aged five, was arrested when leaving the liner Normandie with the largest collection of smuggled diamonds, valued at 150,000 dollars, seized in the history of the port. Her husband was arrested for complicity. The police allege that a huge international gang, of which the prisoners are catspaws, is operating.
