PERFORMANCE AND DESIGN UNUSUAL PROGRESS MADE (British Official Wireless) (Received 25th November, 12.10 p.m.) RUGBY, 24th November. The Under-Secretary for Air, Sir Philip Sassoon, in a speech, said that the development of the Air Force expansion scheme coincided with a period of unusual progress in the performance and design of aeroplanes and engines. How good these aircraft were was demonstrated by the fact that so many foreign nation's ( were anxious to secure examples of them, though they knew they would have to wait a long time for them. Sir Philip Sassoon added: ' , “Since the present air expansion scheme started we have been producing roughly a squadron per week.”
