NOBEL PEACE PRIZE
AWARD CONFIRMED (United Press Association— By Electric Telegraph—Copyright) (Received 25th November, 10.30 a.m.) OSLO, 24th November. It is confirmed that Karl von Ossietszky was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for 1935. “DELIBERATE DEMONSTRATION AGAINST GERMANY” (Received 25th November, 11.35 a.m.) OSLO, 24th November. Dr. Heinrich Sahm, German Minister, commenting on Karl von Ossietszky and the Nobel Peace Prize being awarded to him said: “In my opinion the decision must be regarded as a deliberate demonstration against Germany.” A cablegram from Berlin last week stated that Karl Von Ossietszky, a pacifist writer, had been released after three years ’imprisonment in a concentration camp. “AWARDED TO NOTORIOUS TRAITOR” OFFICIAL GERMAN STATEMENT BERLIN, 24th November. It is officially stated: "The fact that the Nobel Peace Prize was awarded to the notorious traitor, Karl von Ossieszky, is such a shameless provocation and insult to the new Germany that an appropriate and clear answer will follow. It is the first time in history that the prize has been awarded to a traitor.”
