OBITUARY

MR W. H. BENNETT

DEPUTY-MAYOR OF WELLINGTON (By Telegraph—Press Association) WELLINGTON, This Day. The death has occurred of the De-puty-Mayor, Mr W. H. Bennett, aged 78 years. The late Mr Bennett was a master builder. He was attached to many branches of sport as president and vice-president. He had been secretary of the Master Builders’ Association; president for several years of the Federation; and president of the Wellington Emnloyers’ Association. He erected many public, buildings in Wellington. In 1915 Mr Bennett was elected to the City Council, being chairman of the Municipal Milk Supply. He was also a member of the Technical School Board, and for two years was president of the Wellington Bowling Club.
