HEAVY FIGHTING

ATTACK ON OVIEDO CLAIM BY INSURGENTS (United Press Association— By Electric Telegraph—Copyright) ; (Received 7th October, 10.0 a.m.) MADRID, 6th October. Reports received state that there is heavy fighting at Oviedo, 15,000 miners flinging bombs and dynamite sticks against the rebels, who are holding the centre of the town and the heights dominating the streets, into which they pour a withering fire from machine-gun nests. The insurgents claim that they repulsed the attack.
