CONVENT OLD GIRLS’ CLUB

ANNUAL MEETING The annual general meeting of the Convent Old Girls’ Club was hold in St. Mary’s Hall, when a full attendance of members was presided over by the president, Mrs CL A. Day. The annual report and balance-sheet, which were read and confirmed, indicated a very successful social and financial year. Officers for the ensuing year were eleeted as follows :

President, Mrs CL West; vice-presi-dent, Miss Garrick; secretary, Miss Z. Mcßride; treasurer, Miss N. Graham; committee, Mesdames Curran, Fowler. Gilbertson, O’Donnell, Sowman, and Miss Minhcan.

After the business part of the meeting a well-presented play reading, “Old Lady,” was given by members of the Dramatic Circle.

Opportunity was taken to present the retiring president, Mrs G. A. Day, with a bouquet and gift from the club. In a happy little speech general regret was expressed that Mrs Day was not seeking re-election, and she was thanked for her valuable services and unfailing interest in the welfare of the club since its inception in 1934. A warm welcome was extended to the new president, Mrs U. West. The serving of supper concluded a very enthusiastic meeting.
