’PLANES OVER MURCHISON

(To The Editor) Sir, —A letter from Murchison published in yours of the Ist instant has just come to my notice. On Sunday the 20th September about 2.45 p.m., the two West Coast planes ADZ and AAZ passed over between Mangarata and Longford on their way from Blenheim. After crossing the ridge at tiie right of your correspondent, on the direct route to Lyell and Inangahua, the first machine went over towards Murchison. To mark time the second one which is coloured mange, circled. It seems probable your correspondent saw this machine twice. As far as the tree tops are concerned, they may have obscured the plane, but then they sometimes obscure the moon in exactly the same way. It is quite a good idea for people in the back country to note a machine’s registration letters, and although this ’ may not prove of any use generally, it may prove of inestimable value on occasions.—l am, etc., “EYE WITNESS.” Greymouth, sth October. DON’T SUFFER FROM PILEST" Zann Treatment will give you quick relief. Easily applied: Ninepence in stamps brings generous trial sample. Zann Proprietary, Box 952ZA, Wellington.
