Hopes of television broadcasts of test matches were brought nearer by the British Broadcasting Corporation’s achievement in bringing to Fleet Street golf lessons given by Archie Compston from a miniature course at the television station at Alexandra Palace. Scenes were depicted clearly on Fleet Street receivers and even the sound of the impact of the club on the ball was perfect.
