SALE OF WORK AT TAHUNANUI

ST. STEPHEN’S CHURCH The Ladies’ Guild of St. Stephen’s Church of England, Tahunanui, held their annual sale of work in the Town Hall. Mrs Hilliard kindly opened the sale and spoke of the importance of the Guild in the work of the Church. The stalls were prettily decorated and were supplied with useful articles, cakes and provisions. The following were the stall holders: Produce, Mesdames Carter and Davies; sweets, Mesdames Mead .and Plum; cake, Mrs Sanders and Mises V. Bell; fancy, Mesdames Andrews and Johnston; novelty, Mesdames Luck and Smallbone; afternoon tea, Mesdames Day, Inkster, Griffith, Miss Petherick, and the Misses Grace Inkster, Mary Day, Peggy Urwin: bran tub. Miss Doris Davies; competitions, Miss Valerie Griffith; secretary, Mrs Lusty; treasurer, Mrs Griffith.

The sale was a most happy and successful event. Good business was done and most of the goods were readily disposed of.
