COMPENSATORY EXCHANGE

NEW ZEALAND AND AUSTRALIAN PRODUCTS CANCELLED BY FRANCE (United Press Association--By Electric Telegraph—Copyright) PARIS, 3rd October. An official decree cancels from 10th October the compensatory exchange on New Zealand and Australian products. The cancellation of the Australian Sind New Zealand tax was accompanied by decrees limiting the Chinese and Japanese exchange tax 10 per cent., : reducing duties on goods not subject to quotas by 20 per cent, in the case of raw materials, 17 per cent, in the case of the semi-manu-factured goods, and 15 per cent, in the case of manufactures. The duties on quota goods is reduced -20 per cent. : The decrees are aimed at checking excessive prices.
