CLASH IN PARIS
TROUBLE OVER COMMUNIST MEETING (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright) (Received sth October, 1.20 p.m.) PARIS, 4th October. Armed police and mounted Republican Guards numbering 20,000 established an impregnable barrier around Pare des Princes. They repelled over 15,000 members of the Socialist Party who were advancing to invade the park, surrounding the streets in order to prevent a Communist meeting. Many clashes resulted in . 1300 arrests.
