MAN FATALLY SHOT

(By Teleglfiph —Press Association) AUCKLAND, This Day. A rabbit shooting expedition to Runciman ended with the death from a gunshot wound in the chest of John Reginald Smith, aged 35 years, married, of Mt. Roskill. Just beyond Runciman the car was stopped and Smith got out, and walked a few feet away, where he fired a shot to test : a .40 single barrel shotgun. When the second shot was heard his companion, who had remained- in the car, saw him fall and on investigating found Smith dead.
