Stevens, who returned by the Aorangi from a trip abroad, discussed the prospects of a renewal of migration. He said that before that happened, we must have assurance of co-operation from Britain and the Commonwealth Government that the monetary, trade and investment policy would be such as to provide a continuous increase in the volume of profitable employment available for both men and money in Australia.
