SLOOP WELLINGTON
SEVERE STORM EXPERIENCED (United Press Association)
AUCKLAND, 2nd October. The sloop Wellington returned from her annual Islands cruise \last night, having experienced a severe storm on Tuesday just aftpr completing her full power trial. The storm was the worst experienced by the Wellington during her present commission and caused her to reduce speed, although her arrival at Auckland was still some hours ahead of the original schedule. For six weeks, from the beginning of July until 24th September, the Wellington carried Bishop Kempthorne of Polynesia on a tour of his extensive diocese.
