The Match Committee was instructed to arrange, if possible, for more fullrink games to be played to obtain practice for outside matches. It was suggested that a match might be arranged between Commercial street and Alotupipi road links. Considerable discussion took place regarding the decision at an informal meeting to grant the Hiawatha Tennis Club a right of renewal of its lease for a further term of ten years, thus tying up tlie area for a total period of twenty years. Alembers expressed the opinion that twenty years was too long a period to bind themselves to, especially as there was every indication of great developments in the district in the near future. The decision was not ratified by tiie meeting, thus leaving the Tennis Club with a ten years’ lease without the right of renewal.

It was decided that all games on Saturdays and Wednesdays should start at .1.50 p.m., and a suggestion that, as local shops and offices now closed at 5 p.m , evening games should be arranged, was left to the committee to consider. Tlie senior and junior singles championships are to be played on the “sudden death” system, positions to he drawn for and a time limit to be fixed by tlie Mutch Committee.'

A motion of sympathy with tlie widow of the late Air j. Adams, former greenkeeper, was passed in silence. Votes of thanks were accorded the refiling president, the secretary, and to all past officers.
