ALLOWED IN TERRE HAUTE PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE ARRESTED CHARGED WITH VAGRANCY (United Press Association—By Electrio Telegraph—Copyright) MONTREAL, Ist October. A message from Terre Haute, Indiana, states that Mr Browder, Communist candidate for the Presidency, was arrested to-day and charged with vagrancy. Four of his colleagues, including Waldo Frank, the novelist, were also gaoled.

The Mayor, Mr Beecher, a Republican, stated that he will not allow Communism to be established at Terre Haute. “Mr Alfred Landon and President Roosevelt recognise that Communism is a menace to this nation.”
