OPERATING OF LORRIES
LICENSES NECESSARY (United Press Association) NEW PLYMOUTH, 25th Sept. “It is apparent in this district particularly that some lorry operators have an idea that in the transition stages neither the old Act nor the old regulations are in force,” stated Mr P. Skoglund at a sitting of the No. 2 Transport Licensing Authority at New Plymouth to-day. “I want to clear the minds of all operators of this misconception of the law, for it still does govern transport. If there are any operators continuing without licences then the inspectors and enforcement officers have a right to prevent them and prosecute. I have been told that there are several running about who say there is no necessity to get a licence yet, for they can run without one. If these operators are doing so they are evading the law, and are liable to prosecution.”
