TROOPS FOR PALESTINE

10 BATTALIONS ON THE WAY (British Official Wireless) (Received 23rd September, 11.33 a.m.) RUGBY, 22nd September. More than 1500 troops left Aidershot to embark on the steamship California at Southampton for Palestine. The troops belong to the 2nd Battalion of the West Yorkshire Regiment, the 2nd Battalion of the Hampshire Regiment and the Royal Army Pay Corps. With this departure there will be 10 battalions at sea. The first detachment of the reinforcements is due to arrive at Haifa to-day and General Dill, with his staff, will be present to welcome the troops.
