IMPORTANT CONFERENCE ARRIVAL OF IMPERIAL AND AUSTRALIAN DELEGATES TRANS-TASMAN AIR MAIL SERVICE AND AVIATION PROBLEMS GENERALLY AUSTRALIAN MINISTER OF DEFENCE ALSO COMING (By Telegraph— Press Association! WELLINGTON, This Day. Delegates to the Aviation Conference. arrived from Sydney by the Wanganella. Mr F. G. L. Bertram is the representative of the British Air Ministry and the other arrivals were senior officers of the Australian Commonwealth Post Office and Civil Aviation Department, Captain E. C. Johnstone, Controller -General Civil Aviation, Mr M. L. Shepherd, Secretary for Defence, Mr H. P. Brown, Director of Postal Services, Me M. B. Harry, Chief Inspector of Pdstal ; Services. IMPORTANT DISCUSSIONS Sir Archdale Parkhill, Australian Minister of Defence is also to visit the Dominion, leaving Sydney by the Awatea on Friday. Important discussions are expected to take place on aviation questions affecting New Zealand, Australia and Great Britain, with ■ particular reference to the trans-Tasman Air Mail Service.
IMPERIAL GOVERNMENT'S OFFICER Mr Bertram and the Australian representatives come at the Government’s invitation, and Mr Bertram, following a request to the Imperial Government to place an officer at the disposal of New Zealand to give advice on aviation developments. He was the Imperial Government’s representative at a conference in Australia nearly two years ago. At the present time, has special work is in connection with the Empire Air Mail .scheme. He has been associated with the administration of aviation in England since 1919. THE NEW ZEALAND DELEGATION WELLINGTON, This Day. The New Zealand Government delegation to meet the Australian and British representatives in the discussion on aviation problems will be the Hons. F. Jones, W. Nash, P. Fraser, and R. Semple.
