At the wool sales, 9018 bales were offered, including 5630 New Zealand, and 7940 were sold. There was a moderate selection, largely New Zealand crossbreds, which were strongly competed for and well cleared, chiefly to the Home trade, at prices favouring sellers. Inferiors were frequently withdrawn.

New Zealand greasy halfbred “Wairewa,” top price, 16d; average 14|d; slipe halfbred lambs “T. 8.5.” in Diamond/Canterbury, 17d, average 14£d.
