NEW PLUNKET ROOMS
NEARING COMPLETION The new building being erected in Trafalgar Square to provide accom, modation for new and up-to-date rest rooms and Plunket rooms is now nearing completion and from remarks passed by the public the project is proving very popular. The building is planned in the latest modern style and contains every facility possible for women and children. The raising of funds to meet the cost of this building has meant a great deal of work for those concerned, but whose efforts have been greatly encouraged by the generous response. However, to enable the committee to achieve their desire to open the building free of debt, another £SO is needed, and they feel that once this need is known, it will be readily met by our public-spirited citizens. Realising that bazaars, etc., interfere to some extent with business returns they have purposely not used these means to raise money, and they confidently expect that a direct appeal for funds will prove more acceptable. Those who have not already done so are asked to send in a donation to the hon. secretary, Mrs E. Hudson, 20 Examiner street, the Plunket Rooms, to the “Mail” Office, or donations will be called for. An official receipt is given for each donation, which is also acknowledged in “The Mail.” Recent donations include:—
The committee also wish to thank Mr Moss of the Valet Service for generously donating a seagrass chair.
