ITALY’S MILITARY PREPARATIONS
EXTRAORDINARY APPROPRIATIONS
THE INTERNATIONAL SITUATION

ROME, 12th September.
Extraordinary, appropriations are announced for the Army, Navy, and Air Force “in order to raise military preparations to the necessities of the international situation within a limited period.”
Italy’s policy of self-sufficiency in raw materials is being vigorously conlinued. Special measures are being taken to raise the birthrate, including prizes for twins. Cabinet decided to increase basic salaries of State employees by 8 per cent.
