The same message states that autumn production on tne Continent is good, and that reports oi higher gradings oi New Zealand and Australian butters are inilueiicing buyers. There are practically no shipments to America owing to uncertainty as to the imposition oi dumping duty. New Zealand butter is still selling retail at Is 2d a lb, and Danish at Is del. The cheese market is also quiet, with prices down about Is a cwt, wholesale. Canadian production continues to be in excess of last year, but production in the United Kingdom is now decreasing. Consumption is steady. Wholesale quotations for butter are: New Zealand, salted 109 s to 110 s (which equals approximately 12.96(1 a lb, f.0.b.), compared with 114 s to 115 s last week and Ills and 112 s last year, unsalted 109 s to 112 s; Australian, 109 s to 110 s; Duuish, spot, 128 s. Quotations for cheese arc: New Zealand, white 68s 6d to 69s (which equals aproximately 7.76 d a 1b,f.0.b.), compared with 69s 6d to 70s 6d last week and 54s a year ago, coloured 675; Canadian, white 70s to 725, coloured 69s to 70s; finest English farmers, 78s to 80s: English factory cheese, 62s to ■ 665. ESTIMATED ARRIVALS Arrivals of New Zealand butter and cheese in the United Kingdom for the months of September. October, and November will be 33,004 tons of butter and 15,556 tons of cheese, comparer with 25,996 tons of butter and 12,855 tons of cheese for the corresponding months of last year.
