JAPANESE SAFEGUARDING ACT RESTRICTING IMPORTS AND HIGHER DUTIES (United Press Association —By Electric Telegraph—Copyright) (Received 23rd June, 9.15 a.m.) TOKIO, 22nd June. The Dome! News Agency reports that a decree will be issued tomorrow invoking the Safeguarding Act against Australia, restricting imports with licenses and higher duties. Textile manufacturers are already experimenting with a staple fibre as a substitute for wool. The Ministry of Agriculture is planning to subsidise sheepbreeding.
