GIRL PAT’S SKIPPER

. NO NEWS FOR REPORTERS “DON’T PESTER ME, OR I’LL SOCK YOU ONE” SAFEGUARDING STORY RIGHTS (United Press Association —By Electric Telegraph—Copy right) LONDON, 21st June. The “Daily Mail’s” Georgetown correspondent says: “Don’t pester me, or I’ll sock you one,” retorted Captain George B. Osborne, skipper of the Girl Pat when questioned about his plans. “I have got money to pay any fine and will willingly do so, so get going.” He explosively told another reporter: “You earn less in a year than I in a month. We’ve a month’s supply of the finest food and are not starving. That’s all I will say.” Captain Osborne and the crew, who have been discharged from custody are not likely to be prosecuted or fined. They have consulted a solicitor in order to safeguard the disposal of the story rights of their adventures, cabled offers for which amount to £IOO. NO LEGAL ACTION AGAINST CREW Mr H. V. Chapman, a director of the Marstrand Fishing Company, Grimsby, owners of the Girl Pat, says that they are not taking legal action against her crew. He declares that her adventures, when fully revealed, will create an even greater sensation. He adds: “If as her legal owners we claim the vessel, we may be asked to meet accounts for stores taken aboard en route, besides the expenses of bringing her home. Nine of the twelve underwriters have paid their insurances in the belief that the vessel was wrecked. Three delayed payment, hut we received £2400 of £3OOO insurance money.”
