In a circular to shareholders, the directors state that great difficulty had been experienced by the tribute party of working miners in sinking a shaft near the south end of the claim. Gold was not found from the surface to the bottom of the shaft in sufficient quantities tp pay for driving out, and on reaching the bottom the tribute party ran into old workings which were in such a bad stale of repair that further exploration work could riot safely be carried out. Wet weather made it impossible for the party to work below tlie surface for some weeks, and no further progress lias beeri made. Up to the present nothing tangible lias come from the directors’ efforts to interest various mining groups in the company’s claim, and in the circumstances, and in view of the financial position of the company, they have decided to recommend to shareholders that the company go into liquidation.
