SYDNEY WARDROBE MYSTERY
INTENSIVE SEARCH FOR MAN NOT FOUND ON THE AORANGI (Unitad Press Association) AUCKLAND, 22nd June. Acting on a communication from the New South Wales police, Detec-tive-Sergeant Meiklejohn and five other detectives boarded the Aorangi in the channel this morning and made an intensive search for a man who, it was thought, might be able to throw some light on the recent Sydney wardrobe murder mystery. Detectives also interviewed every new member of the crew who had joined the vessel at Sydney, but the man sought could not be located and he is believed to be not on the ship. Detectives, however, are keeping a close watch on the gangway to-day. ' Captain M. V. Hill, interviewed lat£T, said he did not receive any official communication from the Australian police, and the first official information of the search was when detectives boarded the Aorangi early this morning.
