DISTRICT LICENSING AUTHORITIES FOUR APPOINTMENTS ANNOUNCED (By Telegraph—Press Association) WELLINGTON, This Day. Four district licensing authorities have been appointed by the Government under the new Transport Licensing Amendment Act. They will take the places of the former central licensing authorities and will have the power to grant passenger and service licenses and to exercise jurisdiction in respect of transport affairs under Ministerial control. The four authorities who have been appointed by the Minister of Transport, the Hon. R. Semple, with the concurrence of Cabinet, are: Mr Phelan, Auckland. Mr Philip Skoglund, Town Clerk ot Stratford. Mr T. H. Langford, Temuka. Mr Victor Raines, Invercargill.
