ENDEAVOUR TO STIMULATE STATE GRANTS TO BE MADE (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright) BERLIN, 16th June. - Seeking to stimulate the birth-rate, Herr Reinhardt, of the Finance Ministry, announces State grants of 10 marks a month for the fifth and every additional child under the age of 16 years in families whose income does not exceed 185 marks a month. It is estimated that 400,000 children will be involved, costing 48,000,000 marks a year. This scheme, which will operate from July, supplements the system of non-recurrent grants to larg£families which hitherto cost 75,000,000 marks. Six hundred thousand loans, totalling 340,000,000 marks, have been made to assist couples to marry.
