DRUIDISM

MEETING OF PIONEER LODGE The usual fortnightly meeting of Pioneer Lodge, U.A.O.D. (juvenile branch) was held in the Orange Hall, Collingwood street, last evening. There was a good attendance presided over by the Arch Druid (Bro. G. Harvey), with P.A. Bro. E. Bennetts acting as superintendent. The following visitors were present from Maitai Lodge: P.A. Bro. Smalley. P.A. Bro. W. Delaney, and Bros. Bird and F. Fryer. The half-yearly balance sheet was read and adopted, showing the lodge to be in a very sound financial position. P.A. Bro. Smalley gave a most interesting and instructive address on "The Ice Age,” and also read three of the best compositions by boys who made a visit to Nelson with the members of the juvenile lodge from Westport. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded Bro. Smalley by acclamation. It was resolved that Bro. Bray be invited to deliver a lecture at the next meeting of the juvenile lodge.
