TASMAN LODGE There was a very good attendance of member at the fortnightly meeting of Tasman Lodge which was held in the Rechabite Hall on Tuesday. N.G. Bro. H. H. Holland presided. Reports were received as to the progress being made by various sick brothers and the usual sick pay was passed for payment. A refund was also received from a Christchurch lodge of sick pay which had been advanced by the lodge to one of their members who is residing in this district. Other business of a domestic nature was attended to, and the members were reminded that there would be a candidate for initiation at the next meeting. Bro. Gordon, who was recently nominated for the position of D.D.G.M., reported that he had received his commission.

The meeting adjourned early to allow the members to take part in a match against the Rechabites in the Indoor Bowling Competition for the Freeman Shield. Each lodge had five teams and some very close and interesting games were witnessed. The result was in doubt until the last game, but Tasman Lodge came out the winners by 3 games to 2. Tasman have now two wins to their credit. After the games were concluded the visitors were entertained at supper.
