BUTTER AND CHEESE AWARDS

SUCCESS OF GOLDEN BAY COMPANIES

N.Z. CO-OPERATIVE CHAMPION OF CHAMPIONS (By Telegraph—Press Association) HAMILTON, This Day. There were 800 entries in the butter section and 425 entries in the cheese section at the Waikato Winter Show, which will be opened by the Prime Minister, the Rt. Hen. M. J. Savage, on Tuesday. The butter and cheese sections were judged by graders of the New Zealand Dairy Division under Mr W. Dempster, of Hamilton, chief grader. Commenting on the butter section, the judges said: “An outstanding feature of the butter exhibits is the remarkable uniformity in the quality of the entries. Uniformity is paramount and it is apparent that this factor has been recognised and given effect to by the exhibitors.” The principal awards were as follows: BUTTER Grand championship banner: Awahuri Co-operative, 659.6 points, 1; Rangiwahia, Rualiine and Collingwood Co-operative, 658.7 (equal), 2; Wangaehu Co-operative, 657.1, 3.
