GOLDEN WEDDING
MR AND MRS WILLIAM SUTTON Mr and Mrs William Sutton, of Selwyn Place, yesterday celebrated their golden wedding anniversary, and were the recipients of many congratulations. Mr Sutton, who is 84 years of age, and Mrs Sutton, 70 years old, enjoy good health, and in fact up till six months ago Mr Sutton had not suffered a; serious illness in his long life. Mr Sutton was bom in London in 1852, and Mrs Sutton, whose parents came from the North of Ireland, is a Nelson-born resident. Mr Sutton can talk interestingly _ of early life in the colony, and has a. wide experience gained through sixty years in cab and taxi work, of the growth of the city. Ten years of his early life were taken up in a seafaring career. Mrs Sutton lias shared prominently in her husband’s work. Since their retirement in 1929 Mr and Mrs Sutton have made two trips to England. There are one son and two daughters of tlie marriage, Mr W. A. Sutton (Nelson). Mrs George Ricketts, and Mrs Frank Schwass, and the couple have eight grandsons.
