AITKEN DEFEATS JARVIS (United Press Association) DUNEDIN, 30th March. In a 15-round professional lightweight boxing bout held in the Town Hall this evening Billy Aitken (Wellington), 9.14, defeated Jack Jarvis (Eltham), 9.7, on points after a, fast and interesting contest. Aitken’s victory was a clear-cut one, and ip . the latter stages especially he had all the better of matters. Jarvis tired a little toward the end. ITALIAN*AMERICAN DEFEATED (United Press Association —By Electric Telegraph—Copyright) SYDNEY, 30th March. At the Stadium to-night Tommy Jones, 10.10, technically knocked out the Italian-American, Babe Marino, 10;8. in the ninth round. The latter, who was making his debut, fought gamely, but was outclassed, the referee stopping the bout.
