PIGEON FLYING
BLENHEIM CLUB RACE The Blenheim Flying Pigeon and Fanciers’ Club flew a young bird race from Wellington on Saturday afternoon, a distance of 46 miles by air line, 28 birds taking part. The race was the first ot a series of four for the Patchett cup, and also for a miniature cup donated by Riverlands supporters. A The birds were liberated at. 12.60 p.m. from the t.s.s. Tamahine and had a strong side wind to contend with, which probably accounted for the velocity not being very high. The winning bird came from the loft of R. T. Bright, who won with a blue clieq. cock in 1 hour 33 minutes 7 seconds, putting up a velocity of 867.521 yards per minute. Following are the detailed results:— R. T.
