WELCOME RAIN AT BLUFF
(United Press Association) INVERCARGILL, 27th March. After a dry spell steady rain commenced to fall over most of the province at 7 o’clock this evening and has continued for over four hours. If itrains all night, the anxiety about shortage of water at Bluff wili he greatly relieved. It was stressed, however, by Air D. E. S. Mason, engineer of the Bluff Harbour Board, that the catchment area had become so parched that a heavy and continuous fall was necessary before an acute shortage could he avoided.
