February figures of retail trade again demonstrate the steady increase iu tlie nation’s purchasing power which has followed the trade revival. The money value of sales last month was 7.3 per cent, higher than in February, 1935. This follows rises of 10.8 per cent, in January and 9.1 per cent, in December. The total number of persons employed in retail establishments was 3.4 per .cent, greater* at the end of February, 1936, than a, year, earlier.
