FIRE PREVENTION WEEK
TALKS TO CHILDREN The children are being reached m the Eire Prevention Week which is being held throughout New Zealand Ibis week. As part of the effort to educate the public in preventing fires Superintendent A. J. Bennett, of the Nelson Fire Brigade this morning addressed the children of Auckland. Point school on the subject, and to-morrow will give a similar talk to the Hampden Street school. Central and St. Mary’s schools are to be included in the series later in the week. This afternoon at 5.40 o’clock a demonstration is to he given by the brigade at Ivory’s corner (intersection of Waimea and Hardy streets) and each afternoon at the same time de-( monstrations will be given in different parts of the town.
