NELSON, MARLBOROUGH MOUNTED RIFLES

ANNUAL CAMP, AT BLENHEIM PRESENTATION OF REGIMENTAL GUIDON The annual camp of the NelsonMarlborough Mounted Rifles will commence at the Woodburn Aerodrome, Blenheim, next week-end. One of the principal items of the camp will be the presentation and consecration of the Mounted Rifles’ Guidon at 2.30 p.m. on Easter Sunday. The presentation will he made either by the Governor-General, Viscount Galway, or Sir William Sinclair-Burgess, General Officer Commanding the New Zealand Forces. After the consecration, the Guidon, which to the mounteds is similar to the Colours of an infantry regiment, will be housed in the Church of Nativity, Blenheim, and will be withdrawn only for ceremonial occasions. The Guidon is of beautiful rare silk, and was made in England. It contains the regimental crest and motto, and is encircled with the record of the regiment’s battle honours.

The camp, which lasts for 10 days, will be in charge of Lieutenant-Colonel Hammond, of Blenheim.

The Nelson squadron will leave for Blenheim under the command of Lieutenant, H. H. North, on Thursday morning, via the Maungatapu Saddle. 'The Tapavvera section will be billeted at the Nelson Drill Hall on Wednesday niglß.
