An inquiry was addressed to the Minister of Internal Affairs on the subject to-day and Mr Parry replied': “No measures of any kind will be brought down this session other than Bills giving expression to the Government s policy.” For several sessions past the present Minister of Labour has introduced a Bill providing for the licensing of bookmakers and also Bills have originated in the Legislative Council to provide lor the double totalisator and telegraphic betting,' hut their progress' lias ' been limited.
