AMENDING LEGISLATION

No fewer than 80 societies in New Zealand are directly interested in the legislation which the Minister of Agriculture, the Hon. Lee Martin, is preparing for alteration of the provisions in the Agricultural and . Pastoral Societies Amendment Act, 1933, regulating the admission of side show men to the show grounds under Section 4 of. the Act. By-laws dealing with the admission of side show men may bo made, amended or revoked by a society bnt in such a case a copy of every bylaw, amendment, or revocation must be forwarded to the Minister, who after approval has it gazetted at tlie society’s expense.' There is much objection to the cost involved,, and it is proposed in the new Act to eliminate this •' Cii
