FLOODS IN NORTH

LOSS TO FARMERS • (By Telegraph—Press Association) WHANGAREI This Day. Storm and heavy rain this week have added to the already heavy burden which floods had placed on farmers in the far north. A large area in the Kaitaia district was flooded and practically all stock from land bordering the Awanui harbour is running loose on the road and higher land, the beasts having been released for safety when the flood was threatening.

The majority of farmers have lost all their winter hay in addition to having grass ruined by salt water.
