AN AMUSIN'G INTERLUDE (From “The Mail’s” Parliamentary Reporter) WELLINGTON, 27th March. Members of tlie Opposition were curious as to the Government’s intentions about the Easter recess, and Mr Savage showed h complete desire to meet the wishes of members. He promised to consider favourably a suggestion that Parliament should adjourn on the Wednesday before Easter and resume on the Thursday after Easter. There was an amusing interlude when Mr Savage solemnly announced that ho could indicate “to the Prime Minister”—referring lo Air Forbes—that the Government would consider the wishes of members. The slip was thoroughly' appreciated by the House, and there was renewed laughter When ;Mr Savage expressed willingness to j “withdraw.”
